Nice big pages for toddlers. August 11, 2010 dweezil (Media, PA United States) This was my first Melissa & Doug purchase, the reason being they are usually so expensive. A sale led me to buy the scissors, Jumbo Coloring Pad, and construction paper - all are well made and worth every penny (even without the sale price). The scissors are so safe they were used by my 2 yr. old. who could cut paper but not himself. The coloring pads are indeed jumbo, and I like that there is one for boys and one for girls with easy, interesting, drawings. The pages easily tear out and are large enough to use as a placemat (handy when eating out). I highly recommend these products.
Excellent June 13, 2010 D&M This is a large coloring pad with all kinds of different designs to color. My 2 year old loves flipping through and "coloring" all the pictures. The book is pretty durable considering all the wear and tear he does on it. I highly recommend this as a first coloring book.
Good coloring book! January 7, 2010 G. Penney (Alaska) My son seems to really enjoy this book. It's a nice break from all of the cartoon themed coloring books out there. He is really enjoying coloring all of the different cars, trucks and animals. I also like that the pages are easily folded back and/or torn out.
Great, even for little kids. December 18, 2009 Harald Anderson (Washington, DC United States) I bought this for my 18-month-old girls, and it was a huge hit, so much so that they now ask for it by name. The book has large, clear images of animals (which the girls like to name or make noises for), together with pirates, motor trucks, and many adventure-tale motifs. The pages are glue-bound landscape, which means that each page can be removed but doesn't fall out that easily.
Almost all of the images appeal to girls, and on the whole are much less boyish than the girls' ones are girly (Melissa & Doug Coloring Book (Girl)).
A fantastic gift.
Boy? If you say so December 1, 2009 Ashley Levanway Brown (Memphis, TN) We bought this for our daughter because, at age 18 months, she is more interested in cars, trains, and animals than she is in unicorns and princesses. The quality is good; the pages don't fall out.
I wish Melissa and Doug would make more series of coloring books--say all animals or all vehicles, etc.
