Works for didj but not leapster or leapster 2! March 31, 2010 C. Hedman (Idaho, USA) I wish I'd paid more attention to the reviews for this product. I ordered two: one for my daughter with a didj, and one for my daughter with a leapster (and now a leapster 2--same story). Since the didj is much thinner, and the game cartridges very small and thin, it works with this case. But the leapster (& L2) is much thicker, especially if you have the screen protector, and the game cartridges are thicker and larger also. If you have enough games to fit in all of the little net slots, you can't actually close the case. The bulk of the leapster itself, along with the little dividers put into the bottom part of the case to separate ear buds or recharging cords, takes up too much space and it just can't close. But if you can't put the game cartridges in, what's the point?
I returned one of these and got the silver go case. It's better, but I still got rid of the dividers. At least you can have the leapster and games in it.
It makes me wonder if the people who made this case actually used a leapster and games when they designed it, or if they just guessed. Oh, and the packaging was nasty. There was an oily plastic covering the whole thing, and then the paper label was stuck on to the surface with a gummy substance so sticky I couldn't get it all off. Ick! Look elsewhere.
Too small January 18, 2010 Lanfear The case overall is great. The only problem is the compartment for the Leapster2 is not big enough.
Do not buy for Leapster 2 January 6, 2010 A. Fall 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Received this case as a gift with a Leapster 2 for my daughter. It does not close without way too much force if you have a Leapster 2 and any games in it. Have returned it - no point in having a case she can't close or one she can close if it has nothing in it.
Leapfrog Go Case in Pink December 26, 2009 K. Hess (Houma, LA) This case does not seem like it was made to fit a Leapster 2. It is not deep enough to close without gapping open on the side when the Leapster is in it, much less with games in pockets opposite the Leapster. Was very disappointed when we opened this Christmas morning. Considering returning it.
It's OK June 9, 2009 D. Stephens (Coraopolis, Pa USA) The first one arrived broken. The handle was completely snapped off before we even took the wrapper off. We got a replacement but feel like we are just waiting for the handle to break on this one. The handheld game does not fit as well in this one as it does in the rectangular one. You have to bend a little metal bracket inside to give it enough space to close over the Leapster. It has ample game cartiridge storage space but you cannot put any in the slots that come over top of the game unit or it will not close. I guess it should have been made with more depth to accomodate everything. The shoulder strap is a bonus and my daughter loves the pink.
