1 out of 5 stars QUIT WORKING AND CAN"T BE REPLACED!! BUYER BEWARE!   July 15, 2010
M!SS Natalie (DFW, Texas)
I purchased this item for my son for Christmas about 7 months ago. About a month or two ago, it completely quit working. It will not turn on at all, even with new batteries. I Googled this and found it to be a VERY COMMON problem. I read where many people were able to call Leapster and get a replacement. HOWEVER, I JUST called and they refuse to replace the item, stating it is past the 90 warranty. Expecting a product to only last 90 days is RIDICULOUS! I am pretty mad and my son is going to be crushed to find out his Leapster is broke for good. It is such a shame as he didn't get much use of it OR the 3 games I purchased for it.

1 out of 5 stars If it breaks after two months, it's not a good product.   June 20, 2010

Other reviewers got 'lucky' like we did. After a couple of months, it simply died. Our son sat on the couch with it and it came with us on a short road trip. It was handled with great care and still met it's maker. If it wasn't a gift I would have taken it back where it came from.

5 out of 5 stars Over 2 years and still love it!   April 8, 2010

We have owned the leapster L-max for over two years now. We bought it when my son was around 5 years old and he still plays with it. It still functions properly and is in good shape. I can't think of another toy that has lasted that long and that still gets used. He plays the games an average of 1-2 times a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. We also bought the charger that goes with it and LOVE IT! Much easier to use than replacing batteries. The leapster l-max ended up being a very smart purchase and I would highly recommend it.

4 out of 5 stars Disappointed   February 17, 2010

This is my second Leapster L-Max. We loved the first one, but with lots of use, it started to not work as well and needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, the new one we received does not work. When you turn it on, you can hear the videos, the stylus pen works, but the screen remains blue. I contacted the company and tried trouble-shooting the problem, but it still does not work. We are very disappointed and will have to send it back.

When the Leapster L-Max works, it's a great toy. My older child learned alot from playing the games and I desire my younger one to do the same.
